Modern Slavery Stetement
This statement is made voluntarily and covers the financial year ending 31st December 2026
Gillespie Manners Limited (“Gillespie Manners”, “we”, “us”) is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all of our business dealings and relationships, and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our own business or in our supply chains.
Gillespie Manners’ annual turnover is below the £36 million threshold set out in Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, so we are not legally required to publish a statement under that section. We have chosen to publish this statement voluntarily, in support of our own values and to be transparent with the clients, candidates and public sector bodies we work with.
Our Organisation
Gillespie Manners is a UK-based executive search firm, providing retained recruitment and advisory services to clients. We operate primarily from our office in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, and work with clients and candidates across the UK and internationally.
Our Supply Chains
As an executive search business, our supply chain is limited in scale and risk relative to organisations with manufacturing or physical goods supply chains. Our principal suppliers are professional and business services: recruitment technology and candidate database platforms, background screening and referencing providers, IT and software providers, office services and facilities, and professional advisers (legal, accountancy, insurance). We do not use manual labour, agency labour, or overseas manufacturing in our own supply chain.
Our Policies
Our commitment to preventing modern slavery is reflected in our approach to recruitment, employment and supplier relationships, including:
- Recruitment and right-to-work checks for all Gillespie Manners employees, ensuring lawful and ethical employment practices.
- A Code of Conduct setting expectations for how our people behave towards colleagues, candidates, clients and suppliers.
- A Whistleblowing Policy giving staff a clear, confidential route to raise concerns, including any suspicion of modern slavery or unethical practice, without fear of reprisal.
- Supplier and third-party due diligence, applying proportionate checks before engaging new suppliers of any scale.
- A Data Protection Policy and Privacy Policy governing how candidate and client data is handled, reducing the risk of exploitation through data misuse.
Due Diligence & Risk Assessment
We recognise that no organisation is entirely free from modern slavery risk, however, based on the nature of our operations and supply chain, we currently assess our exposure to be low. We nonetheless keep this assessment under periodic review, particularly where we engage new suppliers, expand into new markets, or take on work that brings additional scrutiny or reporting expectations.
Training & Awareness
We ensure relevant staff are aware of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking, our reporting channels, and their responsibility to raise concerns. This awareness is reinforced as part of our wider induction, Code of Conduct and Whistleblowing Policy training.
Review & Approval
This statement will be reviewed annually and updated to reflect any changes to our business, supply chains, or risk assessment. It was approved by the Directors of Gillespie Manners Limited on 5th January 2026.
