Back in February, Gillespie Manners entered the ‘Best Tech Recruiter’ category of The Global Business Tech Awards and were pleased to make it on to the shortlist in this, our 20th year in business. On 9th May, we were delighted to find out that we’d won the award.

The Global Business Tech Awards shine a spotlight on the best technology solutions and businesses around the world. Spanning many disciplines, the award categories allow entrants from several major industries to showcase their advancements in technology – be that an innovative platform or a best-in-class service.

Featuring case studies of clients such as Astrata and ToolsGroup, our entry gave the independent judging panel a detailed insight into our customer-centric approach and recognition for client and candidate satisfaction. It explored how we serve a cross-vertical technology market, and how we have proven time and again that when technology-led businesses invest in retained Executive Search, the very best quality talent matches are produced. It becomes clear to all who work with us that we are able to position ourselves as long-term strategic consultants.

It’s fair to say that the reputation of the recruitment industry has suffered over the last few years, with recessions and the pandemic leading to a volatile market. It is most definitely testament to our resilient and proactive team that the business has not succumbed like so many others, and instead continued to identify new market and vertical opportunities.

We are immensely proud of this award win, as it serves as proof that our continued commitment to growth and development over the past 12 months has very much paid off. We constantly invest in training and global event attendance within our specialist practice verticals – supply chain technology, retail technology, robotics and automation, AI, RFID, and sustainability technology. Each of these teams is underpinned by a dedicated research function to ensure that our ‘little black book’ of passive talent within each role type is kept constantly up to date.

A double-down on new processes in 2023 saw our project-close timeline reduce from an average of 11 weeks in 2022, to a speedy 10-week turnaround. This created enhanced efficiencies for our clients as the placement of niche, senior candidates is often the gateway to exponential growth.

As if to measure the direct impact of this investment in our project management, we saw a notable change in our already excellent client satisfaction rating, taking our NPS score of 89 in 2022 to a whopping 92 in 2023. Rankings this high are considered outstanding when compared to benchmarking data for the recruitment industry.
