The Client:
BluePrint Automation (BPA) is a global leader in automated packaging machinery, specialising in high-performance secondary packaging systems, case packing, and robotic integration for major fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and industrial manufacturers worldwide.
The Challenge:
Geography and timing presented an acute bottleneck for the business. The role demanded a Chief Operating Officer to be based out of their North American headquarters in Richmond, Virginia, with a mandate to start almost immediately, completely eliminating relocation as a viable option. Finding a senior operational leader with deep domain expertise in manufacturing automation who was already rooted in the Richmond area severely restricted the candidate pool.
The Solution:
Gillespie Manners executed a precise, localised headhunting campaign across North American manufacturing and robotics corridors. We mapped operational talent within commutable distance who possessed direct experience managing machinery assembly, supply chain logistics, and production scaling within the automation sector.
The Outcome:
The new COO delivered immediate operational rigour to the North American facilities. By streamlining internal workflows and introducing advanced lean manufacturing methodologies, the leadership placement significantly reduced lead times and manufacturing cycles for new machines and product lines.
